Caroline Street Rockingham, NC 28379 Murphy Lee “Sonny” Tubberville, Jr., 53, of 330 Lake Road, Rockingham, died Sunday, July 25, 2010 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville. Sonny was born July 6, 1957 in Jackson Parrish, LA, a son of Ruth Menshew Tubberville Matthews and the late Murphy Lee Tubberville. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church and a truck driver for Carolina By-Products of Wadesboro. In addition to his father, Sonny was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Roy and Geraldine Diaville. Surviving are his wife, Jackie Tubberville of the home; daughter, Amanda Wedgeworth and husband Ron of Springhill, LA; mother, Ruth Matthews of Jonesboro, LA; grandchildren, Gregory and Natalie Johns, John and Emily Wedgeworth; brother, Jerry Tubberville and wife Regina of Altus, AR; sisters, Linda Palmer and husband Shelly of Campti, LA, Carolyn Elee and husband Lewis of Moulton, AL, Pam Brown and husband Wallace of Jonesboro, LA. Funeral services will be held in Eunice, Louisiana. The family will see friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Wednesday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the home on Lake Road.
