Roger Deloin Cooke

Roger D. Cooke, 52, of Ellerbe, went home to be with the Lord at 6:39 am Thursday, August 12, 2010 at home. Roger was born November 10, 1957 in Richmond County, a son of Margie Cooke Russell and the late Reid “Tot” Raines. He was a member of Hopewell Independent Baptist Church and had been employed in construction. Surviving are his mother, Margie C. Russell of the home; brothers, Dorsey Bartlett, Jr of Greensboro, Charles Cooke and William Russell, both of Ellerbe; sister, Lisa Hayden of Ellerbe; aunts, Glenda Wilson, Jeanette King, Mary Rancer, Sandra Lathan, Clara Moore; uncles, Ronald Cooke, Kenny Cooke, J.W. Cooke; 2 nieces and 5 nephews. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday in Ellerbe Cemetery with Rev. Michael Carpenter officiating. The family will see friends following the service and at other times at the home on Gibson Mill Rd. Memorials may be made to Richmond County Hospice, 1119 US Hwy 1 N, Rockingham, NC 28379.
