Bernice Robison Braddock

Bernice Ellen Robison Braddock, 84, of Battley Dairy Rd. Rockingham, died Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at the University of North Carolina Hospital in Chapel Hill. Mrs. Braddock was born July 19, 1926 in Topeka, Kansas, a daughter of the late Donald and Eda Ray Robison. She was a member of Glenwood Free Will Baptist Church and had retired from Burlington Industries. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Braddock and a grandson, David Braddock, II. Her beloved dog Rusty died in the fire that contributed to Mrs. Braddocks death. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Jimmy Braddock, David Braddock, Robbie and Diane Braddock, Donald and Ginny Braddock, all of Rockingham; daughters and son-in-law, Patty and Johnny Newton of Virginia, Sharon Jimenez of Rockingham; grandchildren, Carrie Newton Kelly, Joannie Newton Pike, Christy Benton, Christy Braddock Pankey, Jacqueline Braddock, Justin Braddock, Josh Braddock and Jordan Jimenez and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday at Glenwood Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. David Lee and Rev. Johnny Newton officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will see friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Friday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at Robbie and Diane’s home, 1084 Battley Dairy Rd., Rockingham.
