Geneva Martin Jordan

Geneva Martin “ Mama Wilkes” Jordan, 82, of Pallisades Circle Rockingham, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 12, 2006 at Hospice Haven of Rockingham. Mrs. Jordan was born May 2, 1924 in Anson County, a daughter of the late Lonnie and Minnie Martin Martin. She was a member of Abundant Life Church and had retired from JP Stevens Company Martha Baum Plant. She was preceded in death by her sons, Edward Neal Huntley Jr and James Calvin Wilkes, brothers and sisters, Carlton Martin, Guy Martin and Pansy Wright. Mama Wilkes is survived by her children, Rev. Joe B Wilkes Jr and wife Sandy of Bennettsville, daughter and son in law, Margaret Huntley Chappell and husband Johnny of Rockingham, grandchildren, Amy Chappell of Rockingham, Johnny Chappell and wife Tauna of Rockingham, Joe B. Wilkes, III and Jamie Wilkes both of Bennettsville, SC, and Chris Quick of Rockingham, 5 great grandchildren, and a sister Louise Tarlton of China Grove. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 4:00 PM Wednesday at Abundant Life Church with Rev. Ricky Jacobs and Rev. Joe B. Wilkes Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Sandy Ridge Church Cemetery. The family will see friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday at Abundant Life Church and at other times at the Chappell Home, 160 Sandy Ridge Church Rd.
