James (Tim) Henry Peek

James Henry (Tim) Peek, 76, of Rockingham, died Monday, October 11, 2010 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Tim was born November 28, 1933 in High Point, NC, a son of the late Emory and Beatrice Meacham Peek. He had served his country in the US Navy and the US Army. During the Korean War he was stationed on a submarine rescue ship. He was a member of the Church of Christ, attending in Aberdeen and Rockingham and was the owner and operator of Peeks Electric. His brothers, Conrad Peek and Thomas (Sonny) Peek preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife, Beth Brown Peek of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Timmy and Nicki Peek of Hamlet, Shawn and Sharon Peek of Rockingham, Jarrett and Angela Peek of Rockingham; grandchildren, Dylan, Savannah, Chris, Kevin, Maizey, and Kacie Peek; and sisters, Betty Jo Edwards and Shirley Thomas, both of Rockingham. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at the Rockingham Church of Christ with Bob Mason officiating. Interment will follow in Eastside Cemetery. The family will see friends from 12:30 – 1:30 PM Thursday at the Church and at other times at the home.
