James E. King

James Edward King, 85, of Pinehurst, died Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Mr. King was born March 1, 1925 in Richmond County, a son of the late M.J. and Ida Barfield King. He had retired from the United States Air Force and was a member of the Intercontinental Church of God in Fayetteville. Surviving are his wife, Mollie Colvin King of the home; step-son, Mike Poplin and family of Winston Salem; brothers, Bobby and Ronald King of Rockingham; sister, Brenda Kirk of Rockingham; special nephew, Bill Brown and several other nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday at Richmond County Memorial Park with Rev. Robert Nunnery officiating. The family will greet friends from 12:30 – 1:30 PM Friday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham.
