Barbara Threadgill Gathings

Barbara Jean Threadgill Gathings, 65, of 105 Duncan Rd., Hamlet, died Saturday, October 23, 2010 at her home. Mrs. Gathings was born September 25, 1945 in Anson County, a daughter of the late Jasper and Viola Brock Threadgill. She was a member of Crossroads Ministries and had been employed as Supervisor of Glenwood Rest Home. She was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Threadgill and a sister, Josephine Campbell. Surviving are her sons, William Gathings and Tony Gathings of Hamlet; daughters, Barbara Correira, Michelle Chappell, and Carolyn Malloy, all of Hamlet, Donna McDonald of Rockingham; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Jasper Threadgill, Jr. of Hamlet; sisters, Rachel Miles of Chesterfield, SC, Louise Borroughs of Badin, Pat Adams of Hamlet, Joyce Bowman of Hartsville, SC, and Carolyn Brunzo of Mississippi. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday in the Colonial Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with Rev. Thad Pearson officiating. Interment will follow in Northam Cemetery. The family will see friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Monday at Carter Funeral Home and at other times at the home on Duncan Rd. Memorials may be made to Crossroads Ministries, 130 Apex St. Hamlet, NC 28345
