Bobbie Hooks Sanford

Bobbie Elizabeth Hooks Sanford, 80, formerly of Rockingham, died Friday, November 19, 2010 in Spartanburg, SC. Mrs. Sanford was born December 5, 1929 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Robert and Bessie Crisco Hooks. She was a member of Cameronian Presbyterian Church, had been employed by J.P. Stevens, Co., and was a teacher’s aide at L.J. Bell Elementary School. Her husband, Thomas Sanford, preceded her in death in March 2010. Surviving are her sons, Rodney Sanford of Murrells Inlet, SC, Phillip Sanford of Clover, SC; her daughter, Gail Cole of Boiling Springs, SC; 7 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and her sister, Della-Mae Lofstedt of Safford, Arizona. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, November 22, 2010 at Cameronian Presbyterian Church with Rev. Wyatt Coley officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will see friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm Sunday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham.
