Paul Wilson, Jr., 72, of 303 Gold Leaf Farm Rd., Ellerbe, died Monday, December 6, 2010 at his home. Junior was born January 23, 1938 in Forsyth County, a son of the late Paul and Blannie Mabe Wilson. He was a graduate of Ellerbe High School, Class of 1957, a member of Jones Springs United Methodist Church, and the Ellerbe Lions Club. He was the owner and operator of Gold Leaf Farms and Wilson’s Strawberry’s. Junior loved helping the people of Richmond County, he served on the Richmond County Board of Commissioners for 12 years and volunteered in many other activities in the county. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence Wilson, sister, Neva Wilson, and brothers in law, Jerome Gardner, Rick Cox and Nettice King. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Betty White Wilson of the home, children, Paul Bryan Wilson and wife Karen, Teresa Wilson Lampley and husband David, all of Ellerbe; stepson, Mitchell Brown of Ellerbe; grandchildren, Dustin Brown, Ethan Hulon, Chason Wilson, Thomas Lampley; brother, John Wilson and wife Cathy of Rockingham; sisters, Barbara King, Jeanette Gardner, both of Ellerbe, Mary Collins and husband Roy of West End, Linda Garner and husband Brackmon of Jackson Springs, Helen Randall and husband Harvey of Polkton, Sara Johnson and husband Jim of Wadesboro and Rachel Wilson of West End. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday at Roberdel Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Davis, Rev. Bob Carpenter, Rev. Allison Wilson Farrah and Kenneth Robinette officiating. Interment will follow in Ellerbe Cemetery. The family will see friends from 5:00 – 8:00 pm Thursday at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe and at other times at the home in the Derby Community.
