Mrs. Margaret Perkins King, 82 of Rockingham died Wednesday December 8, 2010 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital. Red was born July 5, 1928 in Richmond County a daughter of the late John Fletcher and Jeniss Cockman Perkins. She was also preceded in death by her sister Colleen Gribbins. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for the Senior Ladies Sunday School Class for many years. She was a loving housewife. She is survived by her husband of 60 years Stuart King three daughters Priscilla Durden, Deborah King Graves and husband Gregory both of Rockingham and Jeniss King-Scalzi and husband Robert of Carthage; two grandchildren Mark A. Graves and wife Patricia and Jennifer K. Graves; and three great grandchildren Madison Graves, Tristan Graves, and Wyatt Graves; and one sister Dorothy Benson of Rockingham and Red's little dog Bailey. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Skinner officiating. Interment will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the home. Memorial may be made to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church 1247 Sandhill Rd.
