Alice Rae Garris Morgan

Alice Rae Garris Morgan, 87, of Hamlet, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at her son’s home.

Mrs. Morgan was born November 20, 1930 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Milton Robert and Ruth Crouch Garris. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and had been employed with the Richmond County School System. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Carson Morgan; daughter, Tina Clayton Sellers and sisters, Helen Mudd, Jean Griggs and Libby Taylor.

Surviving are her son and daughter in law, Johnny and Debbie Clayton of Hamlet; grandchildren, John-David Clayton, Bryan-Michael Clayton and Emma-Rae Sellers; great grandchildren, Miles Clayton, Reilly McDonald and Avery McDonald and siblings, Bob Garris (Gloria) of Texas, Nancy White of Rockingham, Jerry Garris of Rockingham and Ab Garris (Wanda) of Aberdeen.

Funeral services will be at 11 am Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Rockingham with Rev. Dwight Williams officiating. Interment will be held privately at Richmond County Memorial Park.

The family will see friends following the service and at other times at Johnny and Debbie’s home.
