Angel Leigh Hook Batton, 45, a resident of Cordova, passed away Friday, June 19, 2020, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. She was a native of New Jersey, born September 17, 1974, but had lived most of her adult life in North Carolina. She was an adopted daughter of Nancy McCroy Hook and John Hook and a daughter of Richard McCroy.
Angel’s education included three degrees. Due to health reasons, she had recently left the employment of the NC Prison System where she served as a Corrections Officer. She enjoyed doing cross stitch and had actively helped with the Boy Scouts. She attended First Baptist Church of Rockingham.
In addition to her parents, she leaves behind her husband of 20 years, Steven Christopher Batton of the home; three sons, Zachariah Isaiah Batton of the home, Steven Lee Batton of Hamlet and Adam Timothy Batton (Megan) of Wilmington; one daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Capps of Hamlet; two grandchildren, Gage and Walker Batton (plus one on-the-way); two sisters, Dawn Greene and Laura Hook; and two brothers, Mike and Jason Hook.
Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, a memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
