Annie White Turnage

Annie Grace White Turnage, 98, of Rockingham, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at Pruitt Health and Rehab in Rockingham.

 Annie was born in Richmond County, North Carolina on February 28, 1928 to the late John H. and Connie Sanders White. She is also preceded in death by; husband Esteen Turnage, daughter Andrea Turnage Hendley, brother G.L. White, and sister Betty Lou Stogner.

Annie served her community by being a teacher assistant over the years of her life. Her desire to help children learn and better themselves with an education is what brought immense joy to her life. Her love for her family was never ending. 

She is survived by; grandson Christopher Hedley (Leslie), son-in-law Rodney Hendley (Pat), nieces and nephews Marlene White Kemble, Tracie Outen, Wendy Kemble-Hawks, Charles David Kemble, Jr., Luann Stogner Wallace (Darrell) and Andrew Wallace. 

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Friday, December 13, 2024 at Carter Funeral Home Colonial Chapel with Rev. Gene Alexander officiating. Interment will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park.

Family will receive friends from 9:45am ~ 10:45am on Friday prior to the service.
