Barbara Kirk Smith

Barbara Ann Kirk Smith, 79 of Rockingham, passed away on Friday October 12, 2018 peacefully at her home. 

Barbara was born on August 7, 1939 in Richmond County, daughter of the late Ernest Kirk, Sr. and Annie Mae Walters Kirk.

 She was a teacher assistant with Richmond County Schools. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Ernest Kirk, Jr., Mason Kirk, her sisters, Vera Kirk Brock, and Carolyn Taylor. 

Surviving are her husband, Jimmy Ray Smith of the home; daughters; Karen Kirk Smith of Hamlet, NC and Pamela Rose Smith and partner Mandi Parker of Wilmington, NC; grandchild Hayley Fields Gordon and husband Chip Gordon of Hamlet, NC; great -grandchild Kirkley Adams Gordon of Hamlet, NC; brothers, Bill Kirk(Brenda), of Rockingham, Eddie Kirk(Mary Ellen) of Statesville, NC, Tim Kirk(Connie) of Tatum, SC and many nieces and nephews.

 The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11:30 am until 1:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and other times at the home.

 A family memorial service will be held at a later time.
