Betty Ludlum Dawkins

Betty Ludlum Dawkins, 82, of Rockingham, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Hospice Haven in Rockingham.

Mrs. Dawkins was born August 2, 1935 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Rueben Dewey and Ruth Lynn Ludlum. She had retired from Richmond County Schools after 23 years of service.

Surviving are her children, Jackson L. “Jacky” Dawkins, Jr (Dianne) of Rockingham, Melissa D. Jones (Keith) of Pinnacle and C. Perry Dawkins (Lisa) of Ellerbe; grandchildren, Michael, Casey, Morgan, Amy and Ashley; great grandchildren, Makayla, Kyleigh, Sullivan and Crew; brother, Bill Ludlum and sister, Alberta Freeman.

Funeral services will be at 11 am Friday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham. Interment will follow in Eastside Cemetery.

The family will see friends from 9:45 – 10:45 am Friday at the funeral home.
