Betty Nuttall Lampley Henry, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 23, 2019, from Hospice Haven in Rockingham. Born March 14, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Reginald Garside Nuttall and Minnie Sheppard Nuttall. The youngest of thirteen children, she grew up in the Hamlet area and attended Hamlet High School. Her career was that of a homemaker, and she also enjoyed fishing and camping with her family. She loved the Lord faithfully, had served as a Sunday School Teacher and was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She was also a founding member of the Cordova Girls Club.
In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were two husbands: Oscar “Bun” Lampley and Bobby Lewis Henry; her son, Oscar “Dink” Lampley, Jr.; three sisters: Ethel Grice, Annie Mae Richardson and Estelle McCroskey; and four brothers: Alec, Ben, R.G. Jr. and Doug Nuttall.
Her memory will be cherished by two daughters, Cynthia “Cindy” L. Coble (James) of Cordova and Kathy L. Lawson (Randy) of Sharon, SC; her 9 grandchildren, Michelle Rogers (Craig), Marsha Outlaw (Jerry), Shandee Daghe (Trevor), Adam Coble (Kelly), Corinna Wilkins (B.J.), Krista Rives (John), Jason Lawson, Amber Phillips (Tommy) and Robbie Johnson (Amber), 26 great grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren, daughter-in-law, Jennifer Lampley of Gastonia, NC and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3pm Monday, November 25, 2019 at St. Paul United Methodist Church with Rev. James Brigman officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 1:45 – 2:45 pm Monday at the church and at other times at the Coble home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be considered to Hospice Haven, 1119 US #1 N., Rockingham or St. Paul United Methodist Church, 1293 Sandhill Rd., Rockingham, NC 28379.
