Bobby Ray McCormick

Bobby Ray McCormick, 59, of Rockingham, completed his earthly journey on Thursday, July 18, 2024. 

Bobby was born October 6, 1964 in Richmond County, the youngest child of the late Doran Dyer and Sara Elizabeth Honeycutt McCormick. Bobby graduated from Richmond Senior High School, Class of 1982. He was an avid body builder and won the title of Mr. Teenage North Carolina and the following year won the men’s competition. He was currently the manager of Knight Farms in Rockingham, loved animals, gardening and was an avid UNC Tarheel fan.

Surviving are his children, Ashlea McCormick and Jacob McCormick; grandchildren, Kaylea Peele, Quade Nichols and Jaxxon McCormick; siblings, Kenneth McCormick (Jeanette), Brad McCormick (Angie) and Sandra McCormick (Jimmy) and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at Noon Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe with Rev. Bill Kearse officiating. Interment will follow in Ellerbe Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 10:45 – 11:45 am at the funeral home and at other times at Kenneth’s home.
