Carol Jean Currie Butler

Carol Jean Currie Butler, 71, of Cordova, passed away Friday, January 14, 2022 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital – Richmond in Rockingham.

Mrs. Butler was born January 11, 1951 in Richmond County, a daughter of Louise Currie and was raised by her grandparents, the late Floyd and Sarah Lena Thompson Currie. She was a member and treasurer of Zion Circle Church and had worked as a registered nurse at FirstHealth Richmond Memorial Hospital

Surviving are her husband, Dillin Butler; children, Deana Butler Singletary (Chris),Robert Lee Butler, Billy Joe Butler and Daniel Wayne Butler (Maryann) ; grandchildren, Matthew Butler, Kelsey Butler, Candance Butler, Alexis Butler, Gavin Butler, Dani Butler, Dalton Butler, Dillon Butler, Nathan Singletary, Crimson Singletary and Cole Butler; mother, Louise C. Cowick and sisters, Julia Honeycutt, Sarah Benton and Wilma Cowick.

A service to celebrate and give thanks for Carol’s life will be at 5:30 pm Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Zion Circle Church with Rev. Ronnie Chavis officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
