Catherine "Kitty" Parris Johnson

Sara Catherine “Kitty” Parris Johnson, 84, of Rockingham, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Hamlet House.

Kitty was born March 1, 1934 in Cherokee County, SC, a daughter of the late Arthur W. and Janie Elizabeth Byars Parris. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ, Latter Day Saints and had retired from Sara Lee Hosiery. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Johnson, step-son Tim Johnson and brother Stacy Parris.

Surviving are her sisters and brother, Jean Davis, Sybil Pattan and Butch Parris, all of Rockingham, step-daughter, Donna Bumgarner of North Wilkesboro, a step-grandchild and a step-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 11 am Thursday at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints with Branch President Stanley Seibles officiating. Interment will follow in Eastside Cemetery. 

The family will see friends from 10:00 – 10:45 am Thursday at the church.
