Charles DeBoe Hardesty III

Charles (Chuck) D. Hardesty, III, 72, of Ellerbe, NC, passed away December 12, 2021, at First Health Moore Regional Hospital with his family by his side.   

Chuck is survived by his wife of 45 years, Vickie Hudson Hardesty; a son, David Hardesty and wife Cayla, a grandchild Gabriel Andrew.  He was predeceased by a son, Charles Andrew Hardesty.   

Chuck was born May 20, 1949, in Roanoke, VA, to Charles D. and Betty Poff Hardesty, both deceased.  He attended St. Andrews Presbyterian College and East Carolina University.  He believed his Christian calling was to be a Physical Therapist, which he did successfully for 46 years. 

Chuck was an active member of Sweet Haven Church serving as Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Awana Teacher, and Choir Member.  He was known by all as a Christian man.  Serving the Lord and taking care of his family were the most important things for him.  He enjoyed the outdoors through hunting, fishing, and farming.  

Funeral Services will be held at Sweet Haven Church, Rockingham, Thursday, Dec. 16, with Visitation at 11 am; followed by a Memorial Service at 12:30 pm with Rev. Kane McKenzie and Rev. Mitchell Roller officiating.  Burial will follow at Dockery Cemetery, Cartledge Creek Road, Rockingham.
