Chong Suk Kwon Reynolds was born in Seoul, South Korea on May 28, 1954. The daughter of Kwon Young Un and Nho Sun Dek, she was one of five children in the household. Her early life in Korea shaped her strong work ethic and drive to provide for her family.
In 1973 she immigrated to the United States and had a love for her new country eventually obtaining her citizenship. For over 40 years she owned a local business and was well loved in her community and beyond. Her church family and lifelong friends have known her to be a faithful and generous woman. She passed from this earthly world and into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on May 18, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kwon Yong Un and Nho Sun Dek, her husband, Luther Warren “Tim” Reynolds, her sister, Chong Ja Kwon, and her granddaughter, Catherine Waldo.
She is survived by her son, Freddie Waldo and wife, Susan; daughter, Wanda Revels and husband, Cheyenne; grandchildren, Edwin and wife, Stephanie, Amelia and husband, David, Allie, Tyler, Nathan, Aaron, Christopher, Waverly, Bethany, and Violet; great-grandson Oliver; siblings, Chong In Adkison and husband, John, Chong Nam Alderman and husband, Dan, Chun Ho Kwon and wife, Nan Yoing; nephews, Chris Alderman and John Kwon, and niece, Young Mi Kwon.
The family will greet friends from 12:45 – 1:45 pm Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm with Rev. Young Gi Han officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest beside her husband, Tim in Northam Cemetery.
