Christopher Mark Chappell

Christopher Mark Chappell, 54, formerly of Rockingham, passed away at his home in Soldotna, Alaska, on Thursday, April 8, 2021.

He was born in Rockingham on February 1, 1967, the son of Carol Chavis Chappell of Rockingham, who survives, and the late James Furman Chappell. He is also survived by his son Christopher Eli Chappell (Jessica) of Hamlet; two daughters, Sadie and Sandy Chappell of Soldotna; two brothers, Bobby Chavis (Grace) of Hamlet and Jimmy Chappell (Linda) of Laurinburg; one sister, Jackie Morton of Hamlet; two grandchildren, Caitlyn and Hudson; and Simon, his loyal service dog.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Kay Leaird.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 24, at Smith Cemetery in Hamlet.  Attendees are reminded to observe COVID protocol regarding facial coverings and social distancing.
