Coleman O'Neal

Edward Coleman O’Neal, 96, of Rockingham, completed his earthly journey on Wednesday, August 9, 2023. 

Mr. O’Neal was born December 30, 1926 in Camden, SC, a son of the late Murray and Estelle O’Neal. He was a DJ for 70 years, worked in radio ad sales and was a country music artist. In 1963 he had an album that spent 16 weeks in the top 10. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Frances Smith O’Neal and Hazel Bailey O’Neal and brother, Murray Ervin O’Neal,Jr..

Surviving are his son, Thomas Edward O’Neal (Wanda); three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 3:00 pm Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Ellerbe Cemetery with Rev. Carl Moree officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
