Darrell Matthew Harris

Darrell Matthew Harris, 55, passed away unexpectedly Monday, May 31, 2021, at RHA Health Services Group Home in Hoffman where he had been a resident for most of his adult life. He was born May 19, 1966, a son of Albert Burdett Harris, Jr. of King, NC, and the late Irene Caulder Harris. He was also preceded in death by two siblings, Francis Harris and David Michael Harris.

In addition to his father, he is survived by one brother, Albert B. Harris III (Sharon) of Cordova; two sisters, Katrina Bittle (Roger) of Rockingham and Candance Brown (William) of King; plus his extended family consisting of fellow residents and the staff at the RHA group home.

Darrell was a very kind and considerate man who loved and was loved by others who knew him. He took great pains to never be a problem for those who helped care for him.

There will be a time of visitation with family and friends at Carter Funeral Home from 1:30 until 2:00 PM on Friday, June 4, 2021. 

The funeral service will follow in the funeral home with Rev. Ernie Walters officiating. Interment will be in Richmond County Memorial Park following the service.
