Donnie Lee Hoffman

Donnie Lee Hoffman, 63, formerly of Rockingham, departed this life Monday, June 21, 2021, at AuthoraCare Hospice Home in Burlington, NC. 

A native and lifelong resident of Richmond County until last year, he was born October 13, 1957, a son of the late James Curtis Hoffman and Mary Lois Smith Hoffman. He was also preceded in death by three siblings: Charles Hoffman, Jim “Randy” Hoffman and Mary Ann Hoffman Harding.

Donnie was employed for many years with Todds Scrap & Metal Company. His greatest joys were found in his “grandbabies”, his beloved dog, “Georgie” and in fishing the various lakes, rivers and streams in North Carolina with his brother Michael, his daughter and his son-in-law.  

His memory will forever be cherished by his daughters, Heather Rodriguez (Edgar) of Greensboro and Amanda Al-Sawai (Wael) of Texas; his grandchildren, Trystin Andrews, Lola Pinon, Litzy Rodriguez and Sami Al-Sawai; and a brother, Michael Hoffman (Robin) of Rockingham. 

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham. The funeral service will be conducted at noon Saturday, June 26, at Abundant Life Church officiated by Rev. Joe B. Wilkes, Jr.  Interment will follow in Green Lake UMC Cemetery.
