Edna Finley Noblett, 85, of Rockingham, completed her earthly journey on Wednesday, January, 27, 2021.
Edna was born March 11, 1935 in Richmond County, the daughter of the late James Garther Finley and Mary Williams Finley Stevens. She was a member of Good News Free Will Baptist Church. She loved serving the Lord, going to church, spending time with her family, fishing at the beach, her grandchildren, and working in the yard, especially with flowers. In other words, she just loved life. For many years she worked in retail sales with Cato’s, Collins Department Store, Belks and at one time had her own boutique. Following her career in retail sales, she became a caregiver as long as her health allowed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Leroy Stevens and son-in-law, Walter Norris.
Surviving are her children, Angela Norris and Emily Graham (Kenny); grandchildren, Meagan Pearson (Mark) and Dustin Ammons (Heather); step-grandchildren, Kennita Graham and Jacquel Thomas, and great-grandchildren, Garrett Ammons, Zachary Ammons, Madelynn Pearson, Lucas Pearson, Bernie Ammons, Brooklynn Ammons, Steven “Poppy” Simmons and Kennedi Graham.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Sunday at Highland Acres Church of God with Rev. Dennis Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park. Face coverings are required at the services and please be mindful of social distancing.
Edna will lie in state from 3:00 – 5:00 pm Friday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham.
