Edward Charles Stackhouse, born on March 18, 1938, in Mercer County, NJ, departed this life on January 28, 2025, in Moore County, NC. His time on this earth was brief yet filled with love and laughter that echoed through the hearts of those who knew him.

As a retired maintenance mechanic, Edward was known for his dedication and meticulous nature in his profession. However, it was not just his skills at work that described him; it was his incredibly kind, funny, and loving personality that left a lasting impression on everyone. He took great pride in his family, and they were his proudest accomplishments.

Edward was a cherished member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Candor, North Carolina, where he found solace and community, embodying the values of faith and togetherness throughout his life.

He is survived by his loving children: Sandra Bongart, Diane Williams, Edward Stackhouse Jr., Bethann Chadwick, Stephen Stackhouse, Christine Williams, and David Stackhouse. Edward's legacy lives on in the love of his family, which is further enriched by 21 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren, each of whom carry a piece of his gentle spirit.  

Along with his beloved sisters, Ida Ruth "Ruth" Stackhouse Demerest and Anna Mae "Ann" Stackhouse Powell will remember all the vibrant and joyous memories they had.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sarah Elizabeth Clark Stackhouse, and his devoted parents, Ueclidues "Clyde" Stackhouse and Bertha Lake Stackhouse. Edward is also reunited with his brothers, Charles Riley, John Henry "Jack," and Richard Stackhouse, and his sister, Claudine Jenny Pearl Stackhouse Giberson.

The memories of spending time with Edward are treasures that will forever be held close to the hearts of his family. Though his time with them was far too short, the love he instilled and the joy he brought will remain everlasting. With a warm smile and a hearty laugh, he will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
