Gladys Lee Murphy Rushing


Gladys Rushing, age 92, a resident of Rockingham, N.C. for 63 years, passed away on October 3rd, 2019. She was born Gladys Lee Murphy in Danville, Virginia on January 12, 1927. Her parents were Reaves Leander Murphy, Sr and Ruth Phipps Murphy.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl J. Rushing, Sr. to whom she was married for 64 years. She had also lost a brother, Reaves Leander Murphy, Jr, and three sisters, Imogene Isaacs, Lucille Simpson, and Judy Ramey. She had also lost a granddaughter, Emily Voss.

She is survived by her daughter Brenda Rushing Munro and her husband Bruce Munro of Charlotte, N.C, as well as two sons, Earl J. Rushing, Jr, and his wife Katie Rushing of Rockingham, N.C. and Gregory R. Rushing and his wife Martha Shaw Rushing of Supply N.C.
She leaves behing 7 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren..

The funeral service will be held on Sunday, Oct. 13, at 3 pm, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses on County Home Road in Rockingham, N.C.
