J. B. Jeffery

J.B. Jeffery, 69, passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital. He was born January 8, 1952, a son of the late Eli Jeffery and Ruth Barrington Jeffery. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Levi, Randolph and Joe Jeffery.

J.B. worked with the Water & Sewer Department for the City of Rockingham for many years. He was a hard worker who loved his family dearly and was loved by them also. When not working, he enjoyed playing pool and relaxing in his boat.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Currie Jeffery; two sons, Marcus Jeffery of Hamlet and Joseph Jeffery of Rockingham; four grandchildren: Nathaniel Jeffery, Brooklyn Kelly, Londyn Jeffery and Nolan Jeffery; and one brother, Jasper Jeffery of Albemarle.

For those who wish to pay their respects, the body will lie in state from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Sunday at Carter Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 PM at the Ghio Church of God of Prophesy Cemetery, 668 Springhill Church Road, Hamlet,  with Rev. Tug Gainey officiating. In compliance with COVID restrictions, a facial mask and social distancing is required.
