Jacob Eli Hughes

Jacob Eli Hughes, 18, passed away Monday, January 4, 2021, at his home. He was born in Stanly County on March 13, 2002, the son of Robin Timmons Caulder of Rockingham and Jeremy Eugene Hughes of Canyon Lake, TX.

Jacob was a Senior at Richmond Senior High School. He enjoyed biking and video games but he really loved spending time with his dog, Charlie. He had attended The Wellspring Church.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Emily and Bailey Hughes; his maternal grandparents, Odis and Suzanne Timmons of Rockingham; his paternal grandmother, Teresa Hughes of Denton; plus a number of aunts, uncles and cousins and  a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Eugene Hughes.

A private service for the immediate family will be conducted by Rev. Ernie Walters.

For those who wish to pay their respects, Jacob will lie in state at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham from 3:00 until 5:00 PM Wednesday, January 6, 2021. The family will not be present at this time.  Facial coverings and social distancing will be required.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to the church or charity of your choice in memory of Jacob.
