James Clarence Terry, 87, of Rockingham went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 9, 2019.
Mr. Terry was born June 24, 1931 in Richmond County, a son of the late Claude and Dora Pearl Oliver Terry. He was a longtime member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Rockingham and had retired from Owens Illinois. He was a graduate of Rockingham High School, Class of 1952, attended Richmond Technical College and received his BSL degree from Holmes Bible College in 1959. Mr. Terry adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved spending time in his wood working shop making things for family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Terry and sister, Juanita Dawkins.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Margaret Flowers Terry; children, Wayne Terry (Terri) of Hamlet, Eric Terry( Marsha) of Raleigh and Renae Dean (Calvin) of Greensboro; grandchildren, Christy English(Travis), Drew Terry (Stephanie) , Emily Dean, Lauren Myers, Joshua Terry and Johnathan Myers and great grandchildren, Madison and Chasen Pankey, Khloe, Grayson and Aubrey Terry.
Funeral services will be at 2 pm Wednesday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham with Rev. Harris Jordan officiating. Interment will follow in Eastside Cemetery.
The family will see friends from 12:45 – 1:45 pm Wednesday at the funeral home and at other times at the home.
