Jean English Greene

Jean English Greene, 73, of Ellerbe, was called home on Christmas Day, December 25, 2021.

Jean was born October 23, 1948 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late James and Katherine Singletary English. She was a gifted musician, having played piano and organ at many churches in Richmond County. Most recently at Pee Dee United Methodist Church. Jean felt privileged to perform there with Mr. Jack Swink and became a part of the Swink family.  She retired from Pepsi after many years of service. She leaves behind many friends and family members to whom she brought talent, humor and love. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jennifer Leigh Taylor and brothers, James English, Jr. and Dr. Jerry English.

Surviving are her husband, Sandy Greene of the home; son, Stephen Greene of Medford, Oregon, her canine companion, Gizmo and many nieces and nephews and 2 honorary grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 29, 2021 in the chapel of Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham with Rev. Brian Perry officiating. Interment will follow in Ellerbe Cemetery.

The family will greet friends from 12:45 – 1:45 pm Wednesday at the funeral home and at other times at the home.
