Jean Chavis Greene

Jean Chavis Greene, 77, of Rockingham, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at Hospice Haven.

Mrs. Greene was born February 13, 1941 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Hilliard and Pearl Lee Chavis. She was a member of Cordova United Methodist Church and a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Greene, brothers Harvey Chavis and Thomas Chavis and sisters Betty Chavis Dunn and Evelyn Liles.

Surviving are her children Jody Greene (Andy Adams) of Hillsborough and Johnathan Greene (Kimberly) of Rockingham; grandchildren, Emily Adams, Houston Sanford and Kaki Sanford; and brother, Richard Chavis of Rockingham.

Graveside services will be held privately. A celebration of Mrs. Greene’s life will be held at a later date. 

The family wishes to extend their deep appreciation to her caregivers, Kaki Sanford, Akilah Cash, Kelsey Turner, Jenny Cowick, Amy Lefler, Cherry Herzog, Kasey Hildreth, Christi Sheppard and the late Mellie Robinson and to the staff of Richmond County Hospice.
