Lawrence Joseph Conard

Lawrence Joseph “Poppy” Conard, born on February 7th, 1946 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, passed peacefully in Davidson County, North Carolina. 

He was reunited with his bride and truelove, Mary Esther Conard in heaven.Lawrence was known by “Poppy” or “Poppy Cocoa” to his grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He is survived by his twin brother, Frances Conard, his son, Joseph Conard, and his beloved grandchildren, Alia Schenck (Jason), Rhiannon O’Berry, Angel O’Berry, and Stariel O’Berry. His immense love and support for his grandchildren, and his three great-grand children will never be forgotten.

He was preceded in death by his love, Mary, his child, Linda Cheryl Conard, and his three brothers.“Poppy Cocoa” will be remembered for the joy he brought to his family, his incredibly strong spirit, and his love of wonderful music. 

As we gather to honor his memory, there will be a visitation on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 10:45 AM to 11:45 AM at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham, NC. A graveside service will follow at Mary Love Cemetery in Hamlet, NC beginning at 12:30 PM.

Though he has departed this world, his legacy of love and the memories made will never be forgotten. He has left his mark on his family, forever in their hearts.
