Lorene Mallard Chappell

Evie Lorene Mallard Chappell, 79,  of Jackson Springs, passed away on July 5, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born on November 1, 1943 in Moore County a daughter of  the late Rudolph and Evie Inez Garrison Mallard.  She was a clerk in the Richmond County tax office and worked for the Richmond County water department before retirement.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her infant son Earl Keith Chappell and her siblings.

Surviving are her husband of 60 years, Earl Wayne Chappell; her daughter, Tammy Poland and husband David; grand daughter Jessica Poland Majors and husband Austin, and many nieces, nephews,  cousins and friends.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Friday July 7, 2023 from 6:00 pm– 8:00 pm at Carter Funeral Home In Ellerbe.

Graveside service will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 8, 2023, at Jones Springs Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Hospice of  Richmond County,  1119 N US Hwy 1, Rockingham, NC 28379.
