Mary Richardson

Mary Alice Wallace Richardson, 81, of Hamlet went to her Heavenly Home on March 14, 2024. Mary was born on March 14, 1943 in Richmond County, a child of C.J.  and Ruth Wallace.

Mary was a homemaker, a baker, seamstress and a lifelong church member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was a WMU member, Sunday School teacher, nursery worker and active in out reach for the church. She never met a stranger and had a giving heart and loved her pets. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Howard “Buck” Richardson, her siblings, Carolyn Drye, Lucy Hammond, Elaine Cagle and Charlie Wallace Jr.

Mary is survived by her children, Wanda Honeycutt and Brock of Hamlet, Janet Richardson and Terry of Ellerbe, grandchildren Nikki Steadman and Dylan, Savannah Billingsley, Anthony of Hamlet, David Richardson of Ellerbe and great-grandchild, Jaxon Steadman of Hamlet, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Monday from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and other times at the home of Wanda and Brock Honeycutt. Grave side service starting at Noon with Rev. Butch Park officiating. 

The Family would like to thank Hospice Haven and also the Hamlet House for the service they gave to Mrs. Richardson. 

Memorials may be made to Richmond County Hospice or to Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
