Milas "Junior" Duncan Solomon, Jr

Milas Duncan “Junior” Solomon, Jr., 85, of Rockingham, passed away Monday, February 5, 2018 at Hospice Haven in Rockingham.

Mr. Solomon was born March 22, 1932 in Rowan County, NC a son of the late Milas Duncan and Addie B. Whitley Solomon. He had served his country in the US Navy and had retired from Burlington Industries after 38 years of service. He was a member of Cordova Baptist Church where he had served on the Board of Directors, as a deacon, choir director, director of the childrens department and served on the fellowship building committee.

Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Doris Gibson Solomon of the home; sons, Barry Solomon and Stephen Solomon (Patricia), all of Rockingham; grandchildren, Jennifer Weatherly (Paul), Carla Rankin (Mitchell), and Loren Solomon and great-grandchildren, Hunter Smith, Addison Smith, Cassidy Weatherly, Bryson Solomon, Jordan Rankin and Chandler Rankin.

Funeral services will be at 11 am Thursday at Cordova Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Anderson and Rev. Landis Lancaster officiating. Entombment will follow in the Richmond County Memorial Park Mausoleum.

The family will see friends from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the home.
