Mildred Terry Bethune

Mildred Terry Bethune, 92, of Rockingham, departed this life on Wednesday, October 6, 2021.

Mrs. Bethune was born July 17, 1929 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Junior Pearson and Annie May Sanford Terry. She was a longtime active member of Pine Grove Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and the Women’s Bible Study Group. She had retired from the Bibb Company. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Calvin Bethune, brother John Wesley Terry and sister, Betty June Lathan.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Dianne Scott (Jerry) and John Calvin Bethune, Jr. (Juanita); grandchildren, Wade Bailey (Jennifer), Jeremy Scott and Hannah Mauldin (Chris) and great grandchildren, Austin, J.C., Carter and Cheyenne Bailey, Reed Scott and Waylon Mauldin.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Saturday at Pine Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Carl Moree officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park.

The family will see friends from 9:45 am to 10:45 am Saturday at the church.

Those who wish may make memorials to Richmond County Hospice, 1119 US Hwy. 1 N, Rockingham, NC 28379 or to Pine Grove Baptist Church, Building Fund, 275 Airport Road, Rockingham, NC 28379.
