Monroe Parsons

January 3, 1977 — February 16, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Monroe Parsons, who departed this world on February 16, 2025, in Moore County, North Carolina. Born on January 3, 1977, in Richmond County, Monroe’s life was one filled with laughter, kindness, and a commitment to both family and his work.

He was a loving son to John Parsons (Betty) and Evelyn Steele, as well as a brother to James Parsons (Denise), Joni Parsons, and Chris Taylor, he held a special place in their hearts. Each family member knows that the cherished memories of spending time with Monroe will forever remain a source of comfort. Whether collecting arrow heads and rocks from ancient times by the river or sharing stories long into the evening, these moments will forever echo in the hearts of his loved ones. He was particularly proud of his role as uncle to Matt Parsons and Hallie Sutton, who will undoubtedly carry forward the warmth and kindness he exuded.

Monroe also served honorably in the United States Marines, where he developed a strong sense of duty and camaraderie that stayed with him throughout his life. This chapter of his life reflected his character—a commitment to service and a respect for those who stood beside him.

A visitation will be held on February 20, 2025, at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe, North Carolina, from 12:45 PM until 1:45 PM, followed by a Funeral Service that will begin at 2:00 PM with Rev. Alex Perakis and Rev. Harold Pearson officiating. It is during these moments that friends and family will gather to celebrate the exceptional life Monroe led, to share stories, and to honor his legacy of love and laughter.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the Samaritan Colony 136 Samaritan Drive Rockingham, NC 28379.

While his absence leaves a profound void in the lives of all who knew him, Monroe Parsons will be remembered fondly as a kind-hearted, funny individual whose spirit will remain alive in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to have known him.
