Morris Douglas Carter, 81, of Ellerbe, passed away Friday, October 18, 2024 at Hospice Haven of Rockingham.

 Mr. Carter was born December 8, 1942 in Richmond County, the seventh of 11 children born to Eldridge Martin and Mary Ann Meacham Carter. Morris was a member of Rourk Presbyterian Church and was a farmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Wilson Blasko Carter and siblings, Francis Carter, Rebecca “Becky” Frazier, Eldridge M. Carter, Jr., Hill Carter, Larry Carter, and Tom Carter. 

 Surviving are sons, Barry Blasko (Judy) and Doug Carter; grandchildren, Elizabeth Blasko, Aaron Carter, and Paul Blasko; and siblings, Diane Kennedy (Tommy), Dwight Carter (Kathleen), Travis Carter (Linda), and Willa Spivey (Andy). 

 Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at Rourk Presbyterian Church with Rev. Mike Price officiating. Interment will follow in Rourk Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

 The family will greet friends from 11:45 – 12:45 pm Wednesday at the church.

 Memorials may be made to Richmond County Hospice, 1119 US Hwy 1 N, Rockingham, NC 28379.
