Peggy Joyce Smith

Peggy Joyce Goodwin Williams Smith, 86, of Rockingham, completed her earthly journey on Tuesday, December 12, 2023.

Mrs. Smith was born May 24, 1937 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late James Hardy and Lillie Mae Norton Goodwin. She retired from Clark Equipment as a machinist. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Edward Williams and David R. “Ted” Smith, a son Robert Williams, and siblings, Robert B. Goodwin, Lucille McKeel, Cecil Goodwin, Sylvia Grooms, Edmond Goodwin, James Goodwin and Brenda Goodwin.

Surviving are her children, Craig S. Williams (Joanie) and Richard E. Williams (Bonnie); grandchildren, Benjamin Williams and Jennifer Jones; great grandchildren, Emily Jones, Hannah Jones and Waylon Williams; brother Ronald Goodwin and sister, Rosalyn Petersen.

All services will be held privately.
