Rachel Louise Raines Bowman

Rachel Louise Raines Bowman, 78, of Rockingham, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Hospice Haven in Rockingham.

Mrs. Bowman was born August 3, 1939 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Roy Lee and Maude Wilkes Raines. She was a member of Southside Free Will Baptist Church , a retired textile inspector and had also worked as a CNA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Granville Bowman.

Surviving are her children, Kenneth Bowman (Renee) of Mims, Fl, Rhonda Bowman of Aiken, SC, and Melissa Gibson (Andy) of Cameron; grandchildren, Brittany Simmons (James), Callie Bowman, David Redd, III, Amy Strong (Robert), and Mitchell Bowman; great granddaughter, Cheyenne Strong and sisters, Catherine Mabe of Ellerbe, Golda Wilson of West Columbia, SC, Velma Watts of Candor and Marie Lovin of Rockingham.

Funeral services will be at 11 am Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Southside Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Jacobs officiating. Interment will follow in Ellerbe Cemetery.

The family will see friends from 6 to 8 pm Friday at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe.
