Rockingham

Rebecca Frances Bowers, affectionately known as Becky, passed away on January 18, 2025, at First Health Moore Regional Hospital surrounded by her family. Born on October 14, 1944, in Scotland County, North Carolina, her life was a tapestry woven with kindness, warmth, and love, characteristics that will always be remembered by those who knew her.

Becky dedicated her professional life as a proud Respiratory Therapist for Richmond Memorial Hospital and Sandhills Hospital, where she touched countless lives with her gentle demeanor and unwavering commitment to care. Her colleagues and patients alike admired her fun spirit and her ability to spread joy wherever she went.

One of the simple beauties that brought her happiness was watching dragonflies dance in the summer air—a reminder of the joys of life that she cherished. She found tranquility and delight in the little things that many overlook. This appreciation for nature echoed the way she lived her life: with gratitude and love, always seeking the good in those around her.

Becky was a devoted wife to Danny Ray Bowers of 62 years and a proud mother to her four sons: David Bowers and his partner Joe; Brian Bowers and his wife Dawn; Michael Bowers and his wife Joanie; and Paul Bowers, who is engaged to Crystal. Her legacy includes a large and loving family, comprising grandchildren Brandon Bowers, Jeremy Bowers, Noah Bowers, Mica Bowers, Madison Bowers, Addison Feazelle-Simms with her husband Chandler, Justin Butler, Chelsea Butler, Katelyn Bowers, Eli DeBerry, and Gavin Steen. Additionally, she celebrated her role as a great-grandmother to Brantley Bowers, Trenton Bowers, Cailee Bowers, Jase Bowers, Taylin Bowers, Meliah Butler, Cameron Butler, Justin Butler, Jr., and Ralayanah Bowers, as well as Colton Jones her brother Danny Sullivan (Denise), sisters, Ann Rhodes and Jane Burnette (Duane) along with many nieces and nephews. Each of these relationships was a precious thread in her tapestry of family, which she considered her proudest accomplishment.

Becky was also cherished by Diane Bowers, the mother of Justin Butler, Chelsea Butler, and Katelyn Bowers. She was preceded in death by her father, Jerrel Sullivan, and her mother, Frances Barber, who instilled in her the values of compassion and service that she carried throughout her life. Additionally a loving brother-in-law Jackie Rhodes, Sr. was one who Becky loved dearly.
