Richard Wayne Duncan, known fondly as "Dicky" to those closest to him, passed away on May 14, 2024 in Moore County, North Carolina. He was born on April 15, 1951, in the small town of Poughkeepsie, New York.
Richard led a fulfilling life as a carpenter, pouring his heart and soul into his work. His craftsmanship was unmatched leaving a legacy of crafted furniture and structures that will stand the test of time.
Those who had the pleasure of Richard will forever cherish the memories they shared with. Whether it was mowing the lawn on a sunny day, embarking on hunting expeditions in the wilderness, or casting a line while fishing by the tranquil waters—he found joy in life's simple pleasures.
Richard was a beacon of light in the lives of his family and friends. His infectious laughter and playful nature made him a joy to be around. He had a knack for cracking jokes that could brighten anyone's day and his laughter was truly contagious.
Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Emily Boyd Duncan, who stood by his side through thick and thin. He is also survived by his children: Steve Boyd, Scot Boyd, Melissa Barber (Jerry), Jessica Duncan; grandchildren: Steve Boyd, Jr., Brandon Boyd, Joshua Barber, Taylor Barber; great-grandchildren: Julia Boyd, Skylar Boyd.
In this time of mourning, let us remember Richard Wayne Duncan for the love and laughter he brought into our lives. May his memory live on in our hearts as we reflect on the beautiful life he lived. We will miss him dearly but take solace in knowing that he is now at peace.
