He was born in Ellerbe, NC to Robert Thomas Ingram and Beatrice Mabe Ingram. Robert, known as the Crackerman around Richmond county, retired from Lance, Inc. after 34 years. He was a religious man and active in his church for most of his life. Robert and Betty loved square dancing and traveled throughout the US dancing at national conventions. He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren grow.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife Betty Heath Ingram, his parents and brother Eugene Ingram. He is survived by daughter Patricia Broome, son Tom Ingram(Katherine), grandsons Ashton Broome(Christine), Kirk Ingram, Daniel Castellano(Lizi), granddaughter Kaitlin Ingram Weaver(Josh), great-granddaughter Cierra Wright and great-grandson Benjamin Weaver. He is also survived by brother Richard Ingram(Kathy), sister Carol Williams(Ronnie), sister-in-law Barbara Ingram and many other members of his extended family.
Viewing is Monday, October 30, 6-8 PM at Carter's Funeral Home in Rockingham and the funeral service is Tuesday, October 31, at 11 AM at Carter's Funeral Home in Rockingham.
In lieu of flowers donations to Hospice of Richmond County would be greatly appreciated.
