Ruby Russell White

Ruby Maye Russell White, 95, of Rockingham, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at her daughter’s home in Rock Hill, SC. 

Mrs. White was born March 4, 1928 in Rockingham, a daughter of the late James Vanderbilt and Maggie McDonald Russell. She was a member of First Methodist Church of Rockingham, had worked in the credit and accounts payable departments of Belk Department Store and was the bookkeeper for her husbands business, White Appliance Repair. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Franklin White, Jr and son Dr. Michael Darwin White. 

Surviving are her daughters, Lorraine White Johnson (Douglas) and Barbara Ann Lovett; eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. 

Graveside services will be at Noon Wednesday, June 7, 2023 in Richmond County Memorial Park with Rev. Darrel Bowles officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
