Terry Wayne Pettitt

Terry Wayne Pettitt, 58, of Rockingham, passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.  Terry was born on September 9, 1959 in Richmond County, a son of the late Charlie Frances and Fannie Bass Pettitt. Terry coached many recreational sports over the years with the Rockingham Parks and Recreation Department and was an avid Yankee Fan. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Rodney Pettitt.

Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Watts Pettitt of the home, children, Tera Leigh Dale of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Matthew Wayne Pettitt of Cary, NC and Michael Lloyd Pettitt of the home; sisters, Betty Jo Baker of Aberdeen, Ann Toni Rowe of  Southern Pines, Shirley Collins of West End, Lynn Dale Pettitt of Hoffman; brothers Gerald Pettitt of Hoffman, Randy Pettitt of Lillington and Mickey Pettitt of Hofffman.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Main and Rev. Ronnie McLean officiating.  Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 2:45 pm  at Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Hospice Richmond County, 1119 N US Hwy 1, Rockingham, NC 28379.
