Vanessa Ann Lapre, a beloved primary school teacher and cherished member of her community, peacefully passed away on April 27, 2025, at Cone Health Moses Cone Hospital. Born on September 23, 1973, Vanessa dedicated her life to shaping young minds and making a lasting impact on her students at Wadesboro Primary School.
Her journey in education began after she proudly earned her Bachelor’s degree in English. Vanessa’s love for teaching was mirrored in the warmth and kindness she displayed to every child she encountered. Known for her fun and loving spirit, she fostered an environment where learning flourished, and where every student felt valued and inspired.
Vanessa found immense joy in her family, which she regarded as her proudest accomplishment. As a devoted mother to Vincent Brady Williams and James Cameron Williams, she poured her heart into nurturing her sons, celebrating their victories, and supporting them through life’s challenges.
She is also survived by her partner, Douglas Brady Williams, and her siblings, John and Kathy, who carry the embrace of her spirit with them as they navigate their lives without her vibrant presence. Vanessa's father, Richard Lapre, also grieves the loss of his daughter, honoring the memories they shared together.
Vanessa was predeceased by her mother, Martha Cameron Cobb, a loss that deeply impacted her. Vanessa’s love for her mother was evident in the values and kindness she imparted to her children, continuing her legacy of caring and compassion.
Celebration of Vanessa's life will be held at a later date.
Though Vanessa has left this world, the memories of her laughter, kindness, and commitment to her family will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Friends and family will carry forward the moments of joy spent in her company, reflecting on her spontaneous spirit and the indelible mark she made during her time with them.
