Vera Robinson Carter, a beacon of love and kindness, left this world on April 7, 2025, at Richmond County Hospice Haven in Rockingham, North Carolina. Born on January 9, 1949, in Marlboro County, South Carolina, Vera carried the warmth of her Southern roots throughout her life.
Vera was a devoted wife to her husband, Ted Carter, and a cherished mother to her daughter, Leigh England Leviner (Benny) and her step-son, Jason Carter. She took immense joy in being a grandmother to her grandsons Jayce Carter, Hudson Leviner, and Jack Leviner, Kenny Dean England, Jr. as well as her granddaughters Kacy England Teal (Daniel) and Bailey Dawkins, and found delight in the laughter of her six great-grandchildren. The love she shared with her family was evident in every hug and every shared moment, reminding them of her fun, loving nature.
The bond Vera shared with her siblings - Cecil "Popcorn" Robinson, Curtis Dean Robinson, Beatrice "Tuddie" Maynor-Powell (Marv), Nancy Robinson, and Gladys Quick - was a testament to the strength of family ties that she held dear. Together, they would reminisce, laugh, and support each other through life's ups and downs, a reflection of the kindness and warmth that Vera exuded.
As Vera embarks on her journey to meet her beloved family members who have passed before her, including her parents, William Kenny Robinson and Pearl Steen Robinson; her son, Kenny Dean England.; and siblings S.J. Robinson, William "Billy" Kenny Robinson, Jr., Earl Logen Robinson, Eula Mae Grant, Lois Robinson Marlowe, and Grace Robinson Stubbs, she leaves behind a legacy of affection and compassion that will forever resonate within the hearts of those she touched. Vera was truly a guiding light in their lives, and her spirit will be felt and remembered in the stories passed down through generations.
A visitation will be held at First Presbyterian Church Ellerbe on April 11, 2025, from 10:45 AM to 11:45 AM, followed by a funeral service at noon. Vera's radiant personality and the love she carried will continue to inspire those she leaves behind as they gather to honor and celebrate a life filled with kindness and love.
