William "Bud" Jacobs

Pastor William “Bud” Jacobs, a beloved Husband, Father and Minister, went to his Heavenly home on February 18, 2021, after a brave fight with a long illness. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in the Lord supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Richmond County Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastors Chris Jacobs, Al McCormick and Rocky Carpenter presiding. Pastor Bud will lay in state at Jefferson Park FWB Church on Tuesday, February 23^rd form 4pm-6pm. For those in attendance, please adhere to COVID guidelines by social distancing and wearing a mask.

Pastor Bud was born to the late Pastor Boyd and Mancy Jacobs on September 29, 1933.In 1967 He and his wife Edith founded Jefferson Park FWB Church where he pastored for 40 years. After retirement He pastored at New Vision FWB Church for two years.

Pastor Bud was known as a kind and generous man who inspired people with his faith and hope in the Lord. He was serious about his work for the Lord, but was also known for his sense of humor and outgoing personality. He always had a good joke or riddle to share.

Pastor Bud was proceeded in death by: His loving wife of 62 years, Edith H. Jacobs; his parents, Pastor Boyd and Mancy Jacobs; his sons, William “Brother” Jacobs, Randy Jacobs and Douglas “LittleBit” Jacobs; His sisters, Myra Greene, Martha Thompson, Merita Davis and Oveta Maree and Brother, Pastor Ricky Jacobs.

Pastor Bud is survived by his daughters: Vickie Clark (Don) of Laurinburg and Debbie Jacobs of Rockingham; his daughters-in-law Carol Jacobs, Sandra Jacobs and Geraldine Jacobs; a sister, Shelia Nesmith (Mike), Brothers Lannie Jacobs (Anita) and Dennis Jacobs (Annie). Pastor Bud was abundantly blessed with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

A special thank you to Richmond County Hospice and Richmond Pines for their loving care and support; and to his “Guardian Angel” Wendy Peele who cared for Daddy daily making sure his needs were met. Wendy was there for us the past 11 months when due to COVID we weren’t allowed to be.
